Talking iOS10 on the NCBI Technology Podcast
by David Nason, October 2016
For the third year in a row I was delighted to be asked to join Saleem Rahman, Kerie Doyle and host Stuart Lawler on the NCBI Technology Podcast to talk all about the latest update to Apple's iOS operating system for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
iOS 10 was released on 13 September 2016. In this podcast we discuss the big new features, both mainstream and accessibility, and chat about what we love and what we loath about it. We even allow ourselves to ponder what we might like to see next.
As the only one to have received his shiny new iPhone 7 at time of recording, Saleem also makes us all jealous by telling us a little about Apple's latest flagship, and his initial thoughts on the controversial headphone jack omission.
The podcast also includes a great walkthrough of using YouTube on Windows as a Jaws user as part of Sharon Lyons' popular "Sharon's Shortcuts" slot, plus Stuart demonstrates the immensely interesting Amazon Echo device, which has just become available in the UK and will hopefully reach Irish shores soon.
You can find the October podcast here on the NCBI's website, subscribe to the RSS feed for the podcast, or download the episode directly.
